The always humorous Constables of the Shire, citizen-police of Shakespeare’s era, roam the streets of the Central Coast Renaissance Festival looking for misbehavior amongst the faire goers. Watch for them as they may accuse you of outrageous charges, then place you in the stocks…all in good fun and a great photo opportunity of course.
They love to sling malapropisms and poke fun at the amateur police forces of Shakespeare’s time, where respectable citizens, often unqualified for the task, were required to maintain public order for a few nights each year. This tradition of endearing ineptitude is one to behold and enjoy at this year’s festival.
So join us on July 20 and 21 at Laguna Lake Park!
